The World Premier of Lisa D’Apolito’s Love, Gilda will take place on the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival. This documentary weaves together audiotapes and video footage from comedienne Gilda Radner’s own words along with recently discovered audiotapes, interviews with her friends, rare home movies and diaries read by modern day comediennes inspired by Gilda.
Tribeca Film Festival cofounder and chief executive officer Jane Rosenthal offered insightful words about Gilda and her work as a comedian. “Gilda Radner was a powerful comedic force of nature who opened doors and thrilled audiences while becoming one of the most prolific comedians of a generation. Her cutting edge humor was only second to her dedicated leadership in cancer care with her eponymous Gilda’s Club.”
Love, Gilda is set to premier on April 18 at Beacon Theatre in New York City.
Wine Pairing For Love, Gilda
When seeking the best wine to pair with Love, Gilda, we looked for a wine that complements the grand spirit and playful demeanor of Gilda Radner. I selected a Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Pinot Noir 2016. This Oregon pinot noir offers a refreshing taste with hints of bing cherries and a touch of strawberry and raspberry in the mid-palate.
